All departments of the company refer to the General Management. The CEO is responsible for all matters that concern the operation of the Company, with the exception of special responsibilities which, either by Law or the Company’s Internal Operating Regulations or by decision of the Board of Directors, have been retained by the Board of Directors or assigned to other persons or Management Departments. The Chief Assistant to the CEO supports General Management through special advice.
The Executive Store Operations Department organizes, staffs and supervises all the supermarket stores of the Group including ALFA-BETA’s City and cash & carry stores. It also appoints and supervises the franchise stores.
The Executive Purchasing Department with chief responsibilities that include the choice of suppliers and products, setting product ranges, the development of AB-label products, setting pricing policy, purchases of non-tradable goods and responsibility for quality assurance.
The Executive Logistics Department is responsible for the storage of goods and their distribution to the shops and promotes the new supply chain systems.
The Executive Supply Chain Department with duties that include the overall supervision of Logistics, the operation of the Informatics Department, which plans, develops and operates the most modern systems and information networks and the development of new Company warehouses.
The Executive Finance Department is responsible for general and shop accounting, acquisition and management of funds, compiling, monitoring and implementing the budget and cash-flow programme, and monitoring shareholder relations.
The Executive Human Resources Department is responsible for organizational procedures, new hires, training and development of staff, salaries and security for protection against losses.
The Executive Department for Business Development, Strategy and Marketing incorporates the responsibilities of the Department of Development and Technical Support, which is chiefly responsible for real estate selection, design, construction and maintenance and management of the real estate portfolio, and the Department of Strategic Marketing, which is chiefly responsible for collecting and processing data through research, the CRM, management of AB Visa, merchandising and company communications both internal and external.
The Department of Internal Auditing, ΙT and Legal Service support the Management of the Company.
